Who We Are

The Hell Hole Swamp Festival takes place during the first full weekend in May. The Town of Jamestown and Hell Hole Inc have welcomed visitors from near and far with their southern hospitably to enjoy the Hell Hole Swamp Festival's famous beauty pageants, children’s tobacco spitting contest, and many other events and activities. One unique event of the festival is the Hell Hole Gator Trot 10k race. It began in 1976 and is one of the oldest road races in South Carolina.

In 1971 we started out has one man’s vision of community fellowship with an annual parade. Hell Hole Inc has taken that vision and expanded on it. We currently host four community events throughout the year as well as sponsor several beautification projects in Jamestown.
Two of the events we host are the Oyster Roast and the Hell Hole Swamp Festival. Both are fundraiser events that allow us to raise the funds we need to host our other two events - Back to School Bash and our Halloween Munster Mash - for free to those who attend.

Our annual Oyster Roast is one of two major fundraisers we have every year to benefit our other free programs for the youth in the community throughout the year. Funds raised are used to host our Back 2 School Bash and our Halloween event, both of which are completely free to those who attend. All proceeds allow us to be an advocate for underserved population of children and others in the community.

National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
